About me
Hello, I’m Emma — the heart behind Compassionate Therapy at The Zen Den in Retford. As a holistic therapist, parent coach, and infant wellbeing practitioner, my passion lies in creating a gentle, healing space for those navigating stress, grief, and the many emotional layers of life, parenting, and loss. My work is rooted in empathy, connection, and lived experience — both personal and professional.
Family-Centred, Heart-Led
At the core of who I am is family. As a proud parent, I understand firsthand the emotional highs and lows that come with raising children — the joy, the overwhelm, the love, the grief. These experiences have deeply shaped the way I support others, especially parents and families who may be carrying invisible burdens or seeking a calmer, more connected way to navigate life.
Award-Winning Local Businesswoman
In 2024, I was honoured to be named a Finalist in the North Notts Business Women Awards, a recognition that celebrates heart-led businesses making a difference in their community. This milestone affirmed that healing work matters — and that there is incredible strength in showing up with compassion.
Ongoing Growth and Learning
My professional journey includes training with a number of respected organisations in areas such as:
Infant massage and bonding
Trauma-informed care
Grief and infant loss (as a certified Foundation of Infant Loss Practitioner)
Holistic massage therapies and body-based healing
And the journey is far from over. In 2025, I’ll begin studying Psychology at the University of Sheffield, further deepening my understanding of the human experience — and enhancing the support I offer through both body and mind.
